Mikk Pahapill is a former professional Estonian decathlete and he’s an Olympic finalist.
He was born in Kuressaare, Estonia. He started training with his father, Enri Pahapill, who was himself a former decathlete with a PB 7388 points and was working as a teacher and a coach.
At the age of 16 he moved to the capital city, Tallinn, to start training at the Estonian Sports Gymnasium, specializing in decathlon and heptathlon. He soon made the progress needed to compete international competitions and was 9th at the Junior World Championships in Kingston, Jamaica.
It took couple of years to get to the world senior level, progressing 953 points in one year. He soon started training as a professional athlete.
His personal best score in decathlon is 8398 points, achieved at the World Cup Event in Götzis (y. 2011). He won the European Indoor Championships (y. 2009) in the heptathlon with 6362 points, which is currently the 12th all-time result. He also won World Cup Event in Talence (y. 2014) and was the runner-up at the 2009 and 2011 Décastar meeting. Pahapill finished 4th at the 2010 European Championships with his then personal record.
He has represented Estonia at the international competitions 29 times. He has competed at the Olympic Games, World and European Championships, World and European Cup Events.
Currently he is working as a coach in Tallinn, Estonia.
